Tails was running towards Sonic’s house, and he was still excited about what had just happened. He was so excited, that he nearly ran past Sonic’s house.
“SONIC!!! OPEN UP!!!”
There was no answer.
“SONIC!!! YOU GOTTA COME HERE QUICK!!!”
Still, no answer.
“Why isn’t he answering? Maybe he isn’t here right now…”
He then decided to go to Amy’s house. When he arrived, however, Amy did not answer the door.
“Why is everyone out today?

Cosmo boarded Jack’s ship, the “Diamond of Night”, still quite surprised at what had jus happened. The crew of the ship all welcomed Jack’s father.
“Welcome Captain Hector! Good to see you!
“Did you manage to find any new recruits, Captain?
“Yes, though not the kind that I expected.”
“What do you mean?” asked one of the pirates.
“Well, remember that I believed that my adopted son was the last of his kind?”
“Yes?”
“It turns out that his sister still lives.”
“What?” Some of the pirates stopped working for a few moments to see Cosmo for themselves. She felt quite embarrassed.
“Are you sure that she is fit to be a pirate? She seems to be somewhat…”
“Yes, I think so.”
Cosmo felt very unhappy. She still believed Tails to be dead, and she was now stuck with a bunch of unfriendly people who did not like her. Jack noticed this, and he decided to give her some encouragement.
“Don’t worry, Cosmo. I’m sure you will be fine with our crew. You just need some time to get along with us.”
“Thanks Jack” Cosmo said in a slightly brighter tone.

Tails was still searching for his friends. He had even gone to Angel Island, but Both Knuckles and The Master Emerald were gone.
“Well, I guess someone tried to steal the emerald, but I don’t get why everyone would try to help Knuckles!” he said angrily.
After searching for his friends for a few hours, he sat down under a tree.
“Where did everyone go?” he kept asking to himself.
“Tails?”
Tails felt excited when he heard the voice, but when he turned back, he saw that it was just Marine.
“Oh…”
“What’s wrong mate? Can’t find anyone?”
“No… I was going to ask my friends about it, but I didn’t find any of them.”
“Well, that sucks, mate” said Marine. She then noticed that Tails still had his flower with him. Why do you still have that flower?”
Tails’ expression became darker. “I’d rather not talk about it right now.”
“Why not mate? Is it that bad?”
“Yes. I wish I could forget it, but then I would probably forget her…”
“Who?” Marine asked curiously.
Tails didn’t want to remember, but he started telling Marine about Cosmo. As he told the story, he felt sadness building up inside him, and eventually, a few tears fell down his cheeks. As he finished, it became too much to bear for him, and he fell to the ground crying.
“Tails, I… I’m sorry that that had to happen to you, mate.”
“I… I al…w…ways wo…wonder wha… what it would… ha… have be… been li… like i… if she ha… hadn’t had to sacrifice herself” Tails sobbed.
“Well, I… don’t know what to say, mate. It sounds so… unfair.”
“Well, I guess it was for a good cause… but I still wish I had found some other way to defeat them before I had to.”
Marine looked at Tails, and then started speaking. “Well, we’d better start searching for new recruits, mate. If not, we’ll never start sailing.
Tails figured that he might as well be on her crew, as he might be able to keep his mind off of Cosmo. “Well, I guess we should.”
“Let’s go, mate!”

Cosmo walked across the Diamond of Night. It was quite an impressive ship. On each side it had 9 cannons, which seemed to have incredible strength. Apparently, any ship that attempted to get too close would be blown apart in minutes. The sails were huge, and Cosmo noticed that they were made not of cloth, but of some kind of metallic material. The masts seemed to be made mostly out of wood, but as Cosmo approached one of them, she noticed it was also made of some kind of metal, as if both metal and wood had been melted and mixed together. It turned out that the entire ship was made of a similar substance. She wondered how the ship could have such curious properties.
“I hope you’re ready to sail, young one” said Captain Hector.
“Well, I guess I am” answered Cosmo.
“In that case, let us sail!” and he started ordering his crew to set sail.
“I hope we can sail safely” said Cosmo.
“You shouldn’t be so worried, Cosmo. We’ll be safe. Whether or not we can get to wherever we want to get alive is another question.”
“What? Isn’t that the same thing?” asked Cosmo.
“Could be” answered Jack.
“You are mad.”
“Why are you so paranoid?”
“You need to find yourself a girl, mate” Hector said to Jack.

After several hours of searching, Tails finally found Sonic. He was quite tired of searching for him.
“Sonic! Where have you been all this time?!”
“Tails? I thought you were going to stay at home all day!”
“No, I went out after you tried to get me to go wherever you wanted to go. Anyway, where were you?”
“Knuckles forced us to help him get the Master Emerald back from Eggman.”
“Oh… Okay.”
“Anyway, what did you want me for?” asked Sonic.
Tails explained all about marine and how she had asked him to be part of her crew, and find more members.
“…And you think any of us could be pirates?”
“I dunno, mate. You could be” said a voice behind them.
Sonic looked back and saw Marine.
“Well, I don’t know, maybe I should wait and think-”
“SOOOOONIIIIC!!!”
“Uh oh! Amy! If she asks, I’m gone!”
Sonic managed to hide right before Amy arrived. She looked around.
“Hey, you. Have you seen a blue hedgehog around here?” she asked Marine.
“Uh, no. He ran away like 5 seconds ago.”
“Sonic! Where are you?!”
Amy ran off looking for Sonic.
“Okay” said Sonic as he emerged from a large bush. “I’m in.”
“All right! But we still need more people.”
“I’ll help. Just as long as we don’t get near Amy” said Sonic. “But if we don’t encounter her, I could get the crew in about an hour.
“Great, mate! We’ll meet by the ship in two hours!” said Marine.
“Okay. Let’s go Tails!”
